Ship Wrecked {self} Custom72

Sophie was tired of being alone out in the wild. It had been many months since she had a friend or even a traveling companion. She had recently discovered a burrow to call home that she even shared with other jackalopes, but they weren't really he friends yet. She sighed as she hopped along the coast thinking of things. The sun was shining brightly and there was a cool breeze drifting through the hot air.

Up ahead of her Sophie saw a figure laying on the beach. She couldn't tell what it was from the distance she was at so she hopped closer. When she was close enough she could tell that the figure was that of a human. Her ears perked in interest. She hadn't been in contact with humans in forever. But this human didn't seem to be conscious. Sophie wasn't one to shy away from humans, as she was hand fed by a few at an early age, so she poked the human with her paw.

The human didn't respond at first, so Sophie flipped her over onto her back. She could tell that the human was breathing, so she was alive. If only Sophie knew of a way to awaken her. She glanced out at the sea and a thought struck her. She hopped over quickly and began to splash the human with the water.

Ship Wrecked {self} Atalanta

Clara Sink had been drifting between consciousness and unconsciousness for a day or so now. She couldn't remember where she was or what had happened. There was just blackness and light. She could feel her limbs but they were heavy and she couldn't move them. She couldn't open her eyes either. They felt like they had been sewed shut. She groaned in her lethargic state and wished she knew where she was and what was going on.

It wasn't until she felt water being splashed on her that she was finally able to open her eyes. She opened them slowly and her vision was a blur at first. She could see a fuzzy black and pink think up ahead. It had looked rabbit-like and it had... antlers? She squinted her eyes, afraid that they were playing tricks on her. She pushed herself up on her elbows to get a better look.

The water was still splashing on her and into her mouth now, causing her to splutter. "Uh, excuse me," she said to the rabbit thing. "Could you stop that, please?"

Sophie was busy splashing water onto the human when she heard the voice. Her ears perked up an she spun around. She smiled broadly and hopped back toward the human. "Good, you're awake," she said happily. She looked at the human and noticed that she looked very confused, or perhaps she was just bewildered. "The name's Sophie," she added.

Then Sophie tilted her head and continued to look at the human, waiting for a response. The lady looked very rugged with wrinkly, dirty clothing. Her hair was all over the place and dirt on her face. Sophie wondered what on earth had happened to the human. "You're in Svanhildr, which is in Aeris," she said with another smile. The human still looked confused. Sophie sighed, her ears drooping a bit.

The water finally stopped spraying on Clara, but now she stared open-mouthed at the rabbit-like thing. She tried to speak, but no words came out at first. This animal could talk? The idea was ridiculous. She knew of no animal that could talk, let alone a rabbit with antlers. It was rude of her to stare, but Clara couldn't help it. "Sophie? It's, umm... nice to meet you?" She spoke as if asking a question. And she really wasn't sure if it was nice to meet the creature. What if it wanted to eat her? Being nice could just be an act, after all.

Svanhildr... Aeris.... Neither of the names sounded familiar, but Aeirs did strike a bell, though not very loudly. She remembered them talking about it aboard the ship... wait... Where was the ship? She bolted upright and stared around the beach. There were just more creatures down the beach and smaller sailing an fishing ships. Where was the Seastorm? And Robert? As she sat there and looked around, a sudden memory erupted in her mind. The storm, voices yelling, grabbing a wooden board, couldn't find Robert... collapsing in the sand.

As all these thoughts rushed through her head she was staring straight out at the sea. She ended up bringing her knees up to her chest and hugging them, the rabbit with antlers forgotten. Tears began to form in her eyes and travel down her cheeks as she stared.

Sophie was watching the human intently when she started to cry. The jackalope hopped cautiously closer. She tilted her head curiosly. "Oh dear," she muttered. "Don't cry, miss," she said softly, hoping to comfort the girl. The crying had come suddenly too, and it made Sofie wonder what had caused it. Was she really that frightening to look at? She put a paw on the human's back, hoping to not scare the girl. Her ears twitched as she listened to the girl's soft sobs.

Clara blinked her eyes as she tried to fight back the tears. Her emotions were running away with her. At the touch of the creature's warm paw on her shoulder she began to feel more calm. "I'm sorry," she said heavily. "I just... I don't... I've lost... everything," she said as another sob racked her body. She put her head on her knees with her face down and closed her eyes. Everything was gone. Her hope for a new life with Robert, her past life, and everything she knew was gone. She was in a strange land with a strange creature, and it was just so overwhelming. What was she going to do?
