Billy x Siren [Jobie/Kitsumi]

Post  Jobie on Thu 12 Apr 2012, 9:56 am

The sun was well behind the clouds and it looked like rain. It was if any second now rain would come pouring from the sky onto the dry ground. No one would have guessed that hours ago the sun had been shining brightly on the forest. And who would have guessed a creature would have been out in this stormy weather? No one, really. Who would want to be?

But that wasn't the case. Indeed, there was someone out and about in the dreary weather. A jackalope with differnt colored eyes and a black, white and grey coat. He was mumbling to himself at he traveled through the forest, saying something incoherent. He finally looked up at the sky, noticing how dark it was. He shook his head, and then began to hop in the direction of shelter. A few yards away there were a few burrows, most unoccupied. The mumbling jackalope darted inside of one of them, not realizing what they truly where. For he was in the breeding grounds, a place he really didn't belong.

Why, exactly, was Siren in the breeding grounds? She really shouldn't have been there, no, not at all. She absolutely abhorred children; they were whiny, crying, useless little balls of fur. Plus, having children would ruin her figure. This was a place where jackalope came to make these little monsters, and it was the last place that Siren wanted to be. But apparently her 'date' had been thinking of creating little monsters with her...it was a thought that made her gag.

Luckily, she had easily disposed of him. Her half-siren side had come out, and she had licked his bones clean, until there was hardly anything left of him. The only bad side of this was, now she was stuck on the breeding grounds...in the rain. She really hadn't thought this one through. Now, she knew that she should have let him drive her home, and then eaten him.

Oh well, it was too late now. However, it wasn't too late to find a ride home. Oddly enough, another lone jackalope was out and about in the rainy weather - and it was a male, something that she could easily work with.

Using a look that was half pleading, half pure seduction, she hopped over to him. Looking up at him through her long, thick eyelashes, she gave him a fake sheepish grin. "Excuse me, sir? Might I share your umbrella? It's so dreadfully cold and rainy, and my health is such a fragile thing. I'd hate to catch pneumonia."

Billy looked at the female, a confused expression on his face. The confusion cleared for a moment, and he saw before him a damsel in distress. His first thought was that she was such a pretty female, he would give her an umbrella. He looked down at his paws, then looked up at the female. That's when his thoughts stopped thinking clearly, his eyes went unfocused for a moment. And then he smiled, albeit a little madly. He held up empty paws and chuckled. "What umbrella do you speak of, madame?" Then he cackled, pointing toward the caverns. "I believe there is no rain inside," he said with a crazy smile.

Well, that was....odd, to say the least. The man seemed to transform before Siren's eyes, and she didn't know what to think. But with the rain pouring down on her, she really didn't have time to mull it over. If she allowed herself to get too wet, her skin would begin to transform into scales, and she'd have other...oddities about her. Pointing to his umbrella, she said, "Why, that umbrella right there! Oh, never mind! I don't have time for this. Let's just...get to the cave, shall we? I really am beginning to feel ill..." She feigned a swoon, an action that normally made men catch her and cater to her every whim for the short remainder of their lives. Of course, Siren had no intention on feeding off of this man. No, she wouldn't need to feed again for a week or so.

Billy had no idea what this woman was talking about. He held nothing in his hands, at least none that he could see. He shrugged it off and began to hop toward the cave, but that's when the other seemed to fall over. The crazy side of Billy wanted to let her fall and see what she would look like covered in mud, but the rational side knew he should do something. He hesitated a moment, a silent battle raging inside of him.

She was nearly on the ground when the silent battle was over. His rational side won out, reaching out to grab her arm. He wouldn't have been surprised if she had actually grazed the ground before he managed to right her. "What are you doing, ma'am?" The look on his face was incredulous. He had never seen anyone pull a move like that.

For a moment there, Siren thought that he was actually going to let her fall! What nerve this man had! Finally, though, he had grabbed her arm. It wasn't the gentlemanly, "sweep-her-off-her-feet" effect she had been going for, but at least it had kept her from a face full of mud. Her scarf, however, was now dripping in the squishy, dirty mud. "Oh, dear!" She said, as she examined the expensive scarf carefully. "It's ruined! Absolutely ruined!"

At his question, she looked at him incredulously. "What do you mean? I was fainting! Luckily, you caught me." She decided to try flirting again. Leaning close to him, she said in a seductive voice, "I'm so lucky that a strong, caring man like you was here to catch me. Why, what would have happened if you hadn't have been here?"

Billy looked her up and down, then at the scarf. "I'm sure it's washable," he said slowly. It didn't look like it was that ruined. Part of him wanted to grab the scarf and run away with it, but for now he kept that part in check, but who knew how long that would last.

"Fainting? Don't people usually like, stay out for a while?" The idea of fainting was foreign to Billy, and it wasn't probable that he was going to comprehend it. He had seen no reason for the woman to faint either.

At her advances, Billy swallowed hard. He allowed his crazy self out once more, unable to keep it in check for much longer. It was hard to control the crazy for much longer than a few minutes at a time. He grinned at her, the crazy look in his eyes once more. "Why, madame, you would have fallen," he said with a chuckle.

Siren stared at him as if he were an alien or something of that sort. "Washable? This scarf cost me close to 1,000 Runes! It most certainly is not washable! It's a one of a kind collector's edition by a highly prestigious clothing artist!" She held it close to her chest...the part that wasn't muddy, of course.

"Fainting can last from anywhere to seconds to hours," Siren huffed. "What, you think I would fake something like that?"

She didn't quite know how to answer that. "Well, yes, I would have fallen. And then I would have been all dirty and muddy, and my looks would have been sullied. Wouldn't that have been a shame?"

Re: Billy x Siren [Jobie/Kitsumi]

Billy held his paws up as if in surrender. "I think you're crazier than me, miss," he said without the look in his eyes this time. "And that's pretty bonkers," he added with a wink as he watched her clutch the scarf to her chest.

At her anger, Billy cackled and did a dramatic fake faint of his own but without falling to the ground. Then he righted himself, "No, or course not," he said with another maniacal cackle. Crazy Billy was back again. It seemed as if he may be a little bi-polar, but really, he was just crazy. He wrestled with the craziness once more, but it was harder to keep back. The longer he spoke with others, the more prominent it became.

He stared at her for a moment, truly imagining her with mud all over her. The thought caused a smile to cross his face, but then it disappeared. He was about to say something that wasn't even remotely crazy, but instead something else came out. "Shame, shame, such a shame," Billy said in a sing-song voice. He began bouncing up and down, still singing the tune. "Shame, shame, such a shame," he nearly shouted above the sound of the rain.

"Crazier than you?" Siren laughed harshly. "Don't even try telling me about crazy, Mister. I know more about crazy than you ever will, and I am quite sane. You'd know that if you had seen all the people that I had."

As he continued, though, Siren wondered if maybe he was one of the crazies she usually avoided. She began to be afraid, and hugged herself tightly. "I...umm...can we just go to that cave? Please?" This time when she became shaky, swaying slightly as if she might collapse, she wasn't faking. What was wrong with this guy? Whatever it was, it was making Siren feel very...unwell.

Billy merely nodded his head and grinned. He stopped his singing and closed his eyes and just nodded as if in agreement. He stood still and silent for a few moments as if in his own little world.

At her mention of going inside Billy seemed to snap back into reality. He remembered her earlier comment about not wanting to get sick, and decided that they should go inside. "Yes, yes of course," he said with a smile. He hopped toward the cave, assuming the female would follow. She was starting to look quite sick, and he wondered if she wasn't faking the fainting thing after all.

What the heck? Suddenly the male was acting...normal? It was as if he cared all of the sudden. Still, Siren wasn't going to linger in the rain. Besides, she didn't want to say anything for fear of him becoming...crazy again. So she simply followed him wordlessly.

Once in the cave, she shivered. She was beginning to feel incredibly sick - it was the fact that she was holding off the transformation. When a siren began the change because they were wet, they could hold it off for a small period of time. If they continued to hold it off though, they would begin feeling quite ill. Then, they would change anyways. Hopefully, Siren had gotten out of the rain in time.

Leaning against the stone wall of the cave tiredly, she began to wring her hair out. Then, she took off her sweater, revealing a white, soaked and see-through halter top.

Once inside the cave Billy shook the water off him the best he could. The rain had soaked him through and he shivered. Then he glanced over at the woman who was leaning against the cave wall and looked as cold as he did, but sickly. He wondered how she had gotten ill so quickly. Then he took in her appearance, taking note of the see through top. He swallowed, blocking out the thoughts that began to fill his head.

That's when crazy thoughts began taking over, and he fought desperately to keep them at bay. A crazy looked appeared in his eyes again, and he looked away from the woman. He clutched his head and fell to his knees, trying desperately to keep the craziness at bay.

Siren had seen the effect she had on men before, but it was never anything like this. Wringing out the sweater, she quickly put it back on. Hopefully that would help keep whatever was happening to him at bay. Reaching out, she gently touched his shoulder. "A-are you okay?" Siren wasn't normally a compassionate person, but this time she had to be. Actually, it was less compassion, and more needing to keep him sane and from hurting her.

The last thing she wanted was for him to end up going completely crazy. She had a feeling that she had only seen a taste of his crazy side. Siren never wanted to see his insanity it its best.

Billy continued to hold his head, blocking out all thoughts altogether as he told himself it was alright. He wasn't going to attack anyone, he wasn't going to mumble about nonsense and he was okay. He was alright, it was okay. Those thoughts worked on keeping the insanity at bay.

He was still on his knees holding his head when he felt a hand touch his shoulder and a voice ask if he was okay. The hand was warm against his shoulder and he remembered where he was. "Yes, okay. Will be okay," he mumbled quietly. "Okay, alright. Will be fine." He closed his eyes and rubbed his head. What he really needed was a distraction from the crazy thoughts that threatened to overwhelm him. "Talk," he said quietly. "Distraction, please?" He voice cracked on the word 'please' as he looked helplessly at the woman.

Somewhere in his mind he knew that this woman had no idea what he was talking about. He knew that she was a stranger, but the desperate part of him wanted help anyway he could get it. If he could keep the insanity at bay while in company, then that would be a very big success.

He was right when he knew that Siren had no idea what he was talking about. But then the pleading tone in his voice made her want to do whatever she could. Besides, she didn't want the crazy side to come out again, did she?

"I...I can tell you a story?" She didn't know many stories, but she knew one. The story of Sirens...it was what she had grown up learning. If a story would distract him, then she would tell it.

The words barely registered in his head. "A story?" Billy repeated the words dumbly, as if he had never heard the words before. But as the words ran through his mind they began to register, albeit a little slowly. "Yes, yes, a story," he finally said happily. A story was usually something that was fun and distracting. Stories could take you away if you let them. Away to where, Billy wasn't sure. But they took him away from the real world where he battled with the craziness.

"Alright then, I'll tell you a story." Now that she wasn't as wet, Siren was feeling a bit better. She sat, Indian style, across from Billy.

"Now, this story starts long before those silly humans and other creatures had first been found on Aeris. We, the jackalopes, were a new species back then. There were gods, back then...although, no one knows if they still exist now-a-days. Anyways, these gods thought themselves far better than us, and would never speak to jackalopes, considering us of a lower rank.

"One day, however, a goddess of the element water noticed a jackalope drowning. She found compassion for him, and rescued him. He fell in love with her, and although she knew that her father, a powerful and high ranked god, would not approve, she loved him as well. They began to meet in secret, and tried looking for a way for the goddess to become mortal so that they could be married and live out their lives together."

Siren paused, and looked at Billy. Was her story working to keep him calm?

((Ooc - this story is gonna suck, btw xD I'm just making it up as I go along haha))

Billy listened silently as Siren began her story. He had never heard that story before, and it did interest him. It was a love story, it seemed. It had a somewhat calming effect on him as he listened. The others voice was soothing, and it helped him. His hands relaxed and dropped from his head to his sides.

When her voice stopped he looked up at her quickly. She was looking at him, and he wondered why she had stopped. "Don't... stop," he said quietly. He quite liked her voice, and it seemed to have a very calming affect on him, more so than usual with others.

((It's alright. :] I'm kinda winging it with Billy too. XD))

When the male asked her not to stop, she quickly launched back into the story. She didn't even answer him, afraid that anything she said would break whatever spell she was weaving over him to keep him sane.

"However, the goddess's father did find out. He spirited the goddess away, and told the mortal man that the path that lead back to his goddess as one that only a god could endure. The mortal wouldn't listen, though. He said that his love was stronger than anything that dared try to keep him and his lover apart, and began searching for her.

"Through many different trials, he made it through and finally found his goddess. It had taken him months to find her, and he was shocked to see that she was heavily pregnant. He still found her to be the most beautiful woman - mortal or goddess - in the entire universe."

Siren wondered if she should stop. The next part of the story was slightly...well, sad. She didn't want to ruin the calm that had come over Billy. Of course, the sacrifice of the story was actually one of love, so maybe the story would still keep him calm? Siren wasn't sure.

Billy listened intently as Siren continued with the story. His ears twitched back and forth, taking in every word she said. However, the words were barely having an effect on him. It was her voice that seemed to be soothing him now. Love stories weren't really of that much interest to Billy mainly because he was usually so crazy a female didn't give him a second glance.

But as she went on, the words seemed to begin to make sense, even if it was a delayed reaction. His eyes widened, wondering what would happen next. "What next?" He began to think about the story, and that helped to keep the insanity at bay. The female was a good distraction, whether she realized it or not.

"Well," Siren continued. The goddess' father found out that the jackalope had made it to his daughter. When he found them together again, he killed the father and cursed the children. 'You will be born of half sea, and half land,' he said, as he cursed them. 'And you will be accepted nowhere. You will be driven crazy with the lust for male flesh, but you will be unable to sate your cravings for man is on land. You will be hideous, and all will despise you and run from you.' He left the goddess weeping for the death of her mortal mate and for the harsh destiny of her children.

"However, she knew that there was something she could do. As the child was born, a hideous half-fish and half-jackalope, the goddess looked up to the heavens. 'With the sacrifice of my blood, may the curse of my father be lessened. You will crave flesh, but only one day out of seven. And you will not be hideous, but beautiful, so that you may lure one man into your clutches every seven days and feed.' She slit her wrists, and smeared the blood across the baby's head.

"As she died, the baby was transformed into a beautiful jackalope with the tail of a fish. She did indeed crave flesh, but because of her mother's sacrifice, she was able to handle the craving so that she could keep from killing too many."

Siren sighed, a bit weary from the storytelling. "And that is the end of the tale."

As the story went of Billy found himself sitting perfectly still, his eyes watching the back of the cave instead of the female telling the story. When she finished, his gaze turned to her. It was an eerie gaze, because his eyes weren't focused. "Is it true?" The words were distant, but he appeared to be calm now. Billy doubted it was a true tale, but anything was possible in this realm, it seemed.

Then he closed his eyes. When he opened them they were focused and not just staring. "Thank you," he said with a genuine smile. He could feel that the insanity was at the back of his mind, and he could keep it there for at least a little bit longer.
